About the Author

Born in Germany, Edgar Rothermich (DingDingMusic.com) studied music and sound engineering at the prestigious Tonmeister program at the Berlin Institute of Technology (TU) and the University of Arts (UdK) in Berlin where he graduated in 1989 with a Master's Degree. He worked as a composer and music producer in Berlin and moved to Los Angeles in 1991 where he continued his work on numerous projects in the music and film industry ("The Celestine Prophecy", "Outer Limits", "Babylon 5", "What the Bleep do we know", "Fuel", "Big Money Rustlas").For the past 20 years Edgar has had a successful musical partnership with electronic music pioneer and founding Tangerine Dream member Christopher Franke. Recently in addition to his collaboration with Christopher, Edgar has been working with other artists as well as on his own projects. In 2010 he started to release his solo records in the "Why Not ..." series with different styles and genres. This book Print Version 2013 is not really helpful when you have the latest version of Garage Band, too much time spent having to decipher screens and where they moved this window or that screen. Finally had some time to get into it after being out of the country and missed my return window.Tried to find info from the author or is there was another more recent edition to no avail.WAAAAAAAHHHHH!

The picture / numbers / steps approach is the only way to go for such visually-based software. The information presented shows an in-depth knowledge of the the inner workings of the software. This should be the first book for the beginning user and a handy reference for the experienced one. The sections on file sharing and using iCloud with GarageBand for iPad are invaluable.

This book was quite helpful. I went from being totally confused with Garageband for iPad to being able to record/create some tunes. Have only used it a little but is nice to know that I can make it work.

Just like the other reviews, this book is informative but it is graduate level so you should have prior knowledge to better understand and even find the book useful.The first chapter is 51 pages.There are a few colored pictures.This 4th edition is updated and has correct info unlike the first editions.

Good book not overloaded by too much details.However, it presents the material quickly and efficiently.Must-have for the guy who wants to see the present ideas in the explosives and rocket motor solid propellants.Good material on the composition of IR flares.

Since this is the actual text for graduate school, this was totally out of sequence for the history of energetic material. If you are interested in taking a graduate course in chemistry/physics/physical chemistry, this is the book for you. I was just looking for the history of energetic materials and some basic chemistry of the said material. Not a graduate school course.

Since this is written as a text for a post graduate class on high energy materials, this is simply out of sight for the average person. Since I was looking for a more history of energetic materials, this was outside of my interests. So if you are not into Calculus/P.Chemistry /Physics, this is not for you. It is much too advanced for light reading.

I disagree. This book is perfect for covering EM. I have over ten advanced books in Energetic materials, and I have flipped through about another half a dozen.No book has done what this one does. He summarizes the cutting edge techniques in one book, outlook into the future and lays the ground workSo. It is like having someone hand you a book and the history of explosives, present day explosive problems and how to fix these... Alon great with chemistry and thermal knowledge needed for this and then, the author taking you to a technical conference. This book is all that wrapped in one. I heard Jim Lupkin on an interview and was impressed enough to buy the book right away. I read through quickly and very much appreciated the simple and sensible steps. Jim's focus on using Facebook to build and deepen relationships is absolutely in line with how I want to generate business. The title is "Network Marketing for Facebook" but it's really more aptly called Relationship Marketing. I immediately used Jim's suggestion for birthday greetings and within a few days had "chatted" with friends I hadn't seen in 30 years. That wouldn't happen if I just did the standard greeting on the wall.Although my particular industry isn't represented, I found the industry-specific examples very helpful and adaptable. The interviews were interesting with some inspiring nuggets.I hope Jim does some additional books tackling the other Social Media platforms in such a clear and helpful format.

I just finished reading "Network Marketing for Facebook" for the 1st time. I say for the 1st time, because I know it is a book I will re-read and refer to over and over again. I just heard about the book on a team conference call last night, I immediately bought it and downloaded it, and I have not been able to put it down! It has so many tips and tricks and strategies that any entrepreneur can apply immediately, not just for a Network Marketing company, but for any kind of business, really. The book is in 2 parts. The first half of the book is real-life tips, strategies and scripts that you can start to implement right away to help build your venture. It shows the right way to use Facebook and other social media to properly expose your business and to generate interest, instead of just blatantly and endlessly promoting the business, which is what many people do. The second half of the book is profiles and interviews with Network Marketing professionals who have benefited from author Jim Lupkin's advice, friendship, and guidance over the years. They share their struggles and successes with the industry and social media, and they all give you very helpful and valuable nuggets to help you build a business. I think this book is a must read for any home-based business entrepreneur, and especially for those who want to build a successful, long-term business using Facebook and social media as a tool to do so. I would highly and wholeheartedly recommend this book to anybody in the Network Marketing profession, whether it be the seasoned pro, or the newbie, and everybody in between. I have read every book in the "Known Space" - "Man Kzin" collection. I found this entry disappointing, and sometimes silly.Lacking the hallmark traits of desperation, terror, longing, cleverness, from earlier Man-Kzin titles, this entry seems to be a rather docile read.In 2019, is it still necessary to describe the character Buford Early as Black? There are no descriptions of any other race for other characters in the stories. (There is also a reference to a" Black" no named security guard in a story).This series (Man-Kzin) did break several race and gender barriers in the 1980" & 1990's which I appreciated, yet somehow descriptions of race seem counterproductive in 2019.P.S. The cover art is really LAME. The Kzin o the cover appears to be Whipped/Defeated. Scar from The Lion King is more intimidating than the rat cat seated on this cover.

Some of the stories were a bit bizarre - not at all in line with the general theme of the series and its often adventurous, sometimes hilarious and at times thrilling illustration of the long struggle for supremacy between monkeys and ratcats. I respect the intent to branch out creatively into other themes, though it's a bit hit and miss.Some hilites:The Third Kzin was at times heartbreaking. A quirky story, but in portions quite moving.Scrith was AAAWWWEEESSSOOOMMMEEE!!! This story absolutely REQUIRES a sequel in the form of a full length novel. If there is none, Torgerson will need to be pursued and indicted for crimes against Sci Fi Fandom. ;-)

It was good to read a new 'Man-Kzin Wars' book after so long. So many stories, set throughout the centuries-long timeframe, made it difficult to choose a favorite, so I will not. Read them for yourself and make up your own mind.

A long-time fan of Larry Niven and especially his Man-Kzin universe you wonder what a book without him would be like. I was not disappointed. The six authors capture the flavor of the man-kzin "dialogue" just like Larry did. Please keep it coming.

I enjoyed this book a great deal. While it did not incorporate earlier characters as several recent books did, it is consistent with the timeline and prior canon. I just wish that it was longer or that these books came out more often! Great read, run, do not walk, to checkout!

When I read book 1, I had NO idea that this series would run this long and STILL be going strong. Of course I wasn't familiar with the high-powered abilities of all these fine authors. I hope it continues for another 25years, myself included.

Overall the book was good for many of the stories. However I would like to see some of the stories that man beat the Kzine in the wars and not so much after the wars. But I did like this book and would like to see more of them.

I've been reading this series since the dawn of time. It's great to finally read a new installment to the Man-Kzin War series.
